As you guys know, I’ve been trying to figure out this internet marketing stuff for a while now. Although I am definitely making some progress and have learned ALOT this past year that I’ve been at this, I am no where near where I want ot be. However, I had an Ah-ha moment last night and I wanted to share it with you.

I was cyber chatting with one of my friends last night and  I was telling her that I wasn’t getting enough traffic to my niche sites. Now I was making some sales but I wasn’t making many and I really wanted to increase my efforts. I told her that I planned to write more articles and submit them to Ezinearticles. She then told me that was fine but what I really needed to do was create a niche foundation.

She told me that if I had a good niche, I needed to create articles to Ezines and then create a Squidoo, HubPages, Freewebs and Weebly site all interlinking to oneanother. Each one of these would create a nice little network of sites and boost my rankings, traffic and and sales.

I immediately thought about what she said and realize that this was the ticket. This is one of the things that I hadn’t really learned how to do….create networks…and that this is the missing piece.

I was so excited that I almost couldn’t sleep well. When I fell asleep, I had dreams of PayPal cash flooding into my account.

So, my challenge is to create a ton of these niche foundations for my profitable niches to see if I can increase my efforts. What do you think?

Consistency is the key!

Consistency is the key to success and you must never, ever, ever give up your goals.

I, for one, have been tempted to give up lots of times. In fact, I even gave up for a few months in order to make some active income. Although the active income was very nice (while it lasted), once it was gone, it was gone. I put in so much time and energy into building someone else’s library of articles and they’ll receive the benefits of those articles for years to come and I, have been paid, spent the money and that is that.

So, my plan is to keep working consistently to meet my writing goals – no matter what! I am just going to keep churning out high quality content and effectively marketing it to make sure that I get it out there. Because the more content I have out there, the more potential income that I can make.

In fact, you can consider me the mean IM writing machine. This is because I believe that slow and steady wins the race. It is easy to get fired up and then let that motivation and energy dwindle when you don’t see immediate results. I know because this happened to me. However, I truly believe that if I just keep chugging along, doing my best and writing about topics I love, the money will come to me eventually. On the same token, if I give up, I will never accomplish my goals.

Hey guys:

I just wanted to take some time to say “Happy New Year’s Eve and Day”.

I truly believe that 2009 is going to be the best year for all of us. We are internet marketing writers and we will succeed at meeting our financial goals and building a strong future.

Not only do we have writing talent but we are smart and realize that we can succeed at internet marketing.

We will do this by using our talents for our own benefit, working smart,  staying committed and keeping our eye on success.

In essence,  we will meet all of our income goals. I feel it. I can taste it and I can’t wait to get started.

See you next year!

If you’re wondering how you can increase your income my advice is to work smarter. Not only should you work on creating active income that can sustain you now but you also need to create passive income that will sustain you now and later. For instance, let’s say that you have 3 clients that pay you at various times during the month.Although this is great, you should also start rebuilding your passive or residual income as well. In no time at all, you will have active and passive income streams. This way, you get income all month long. In addition, if any of your active income stream dies out or you are unable to fulfill your duties then you still receive residual or passive income. Doesn’t this sound great? It sure is. Here is an example of this plan in action:

  • Client A pays you on the 1st of the month
  • Bukisa pays you on the 5th
  • Textbroker.com pays you on the 8th
  • Today.com pays you on the 10th
  • Clickbank pays you every Wednesday.
  • Client B pays you on the 20th
  • Client C pays you on the 28th.

As you can see, by working both active and passive income streams you have money coming in all month long.

Yesterday, I received a very nice compliment from one of my long term clients. She stated that she really appreciated my assistance over the years and was happy to recommend me toher friends and family members. I was elated and asked her what she appreciated most about my services. She stated that I treated him like family. When I asked what she meant, she stated, “You make me feel like you genuinely care about my copy and my business. I feel like we’re a team that is in it to win. You can be counted on to get the job done. And, just like a friend or family member, I can trust you.” This made me smile all day long. I really thought about her comments and I realized that what she said was true. I really do care about my clients and their businesses. I work my darndest to please them and I really truly to establish long term and mutually beneficial relationships.

Therefore, my advice is to treat your clients like family and always:

  • Keep your word. If you say that you’re going to turn in a project on a certain date then make sure that you do.

  • If you find that you can’t turn in a project by a certain date, tell the client why and ask for an extension.

  • If a client is unhappy with your work, don’t take it personally. Just see if you can fix the problem. If not, give them a prompt refund.

  • Be fair with your prices and make them feel they’re getting a good deal. Command what you are worth but don’t overbill clients. They like to feel special and offering special deals and specials is a great way to build loyalty. Plus, nothing is more annoying than an inflated bill for subpar work.

  • Take your client’s work seriously and do the best job that you can possibly do. Not only will this keep them coming back for more but it will demonstrate your sincerity and commitment to their business.
